Spot the Difference: Ferris v. Ferrari

Created for the iconic 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, in which the titular character skips school, kidnaps his best friends Cameron Frye and Sloane Peterson, borrows Cameron’s dad’s beloved “Ferrari” and makes a day of it in the city of Chicago, the 1985 Modena Spyder California is not what it was made to appear.

Indeed, were it not for the detail shots featuring an actual Ferrari, there would be nothing truly “Ferrari” about the red sports car prominently placed within the Midcentury Modern garage somewhere in the suburbs of Chicago. Here we take a look at what to look for to spot the difference between this “Ferrari” and an actual Ferrari.
