In Memoriam of Horst Brüning – Former President of FIVA

It is with heavy hearts that we say Horst Brüning, former president of the Fédération International des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA), has passed away. Horst was president of FIVA from 2007-2013 and it was through his colorful character and passion for historic automobiles that the HVA was able to become an integral part of FIVA. His efforts also helped to position the FIVA as a whole towards becoming a more professional organization and the world’s leader of the historic vehicle movement. It was Horst himself who came up with FIVA’s iconic motto of “Yesterday’s vehicles on tomorrow’s roads” and Horst

Whether through leading FIVA to new heights as an organization, attending shows across the globe, driving in vintage car rallies, or simply talking cars, it’s people like Horst that help keep our passion for everything automotive alive and we commend his life’s efforts towards these goals.

We offer our deepest condolences to Horst’s surviving wife, Gia, their children, grandchildren, plus any and all relatives or friends. May his memory and efforts never be forgotten and his spirit always be remembered by those that knew and loved him.
