September marks the end of summer and the unofficial end outdoor car show season. But, thankfully, not everywhere. Some great events were held last month in the U.S. and Canada, and the Historic Vehicle Association was there to hand out awards to some amazing automobiles. Read on.
Cobble Beach/ Talbot Lago T 26
At this year’s Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance, this 1948 Talbot Lago T 26 took home the National Automotive Heritage Award for historical significance. This particular vehicle was contested in Europe on a number of occasions, including Le Mans in 1952 and a second place finish at the Coupe de Salon in Paris in 1948.
Canadian Concours/ Superba and Bentley Speed Six
North of the border, the Canadian Concours d’Elegance never disappoints with an impressive field of vehicles on display every year. Taking home the HVA Award was this 1928 OM 655 Superba, while this 1927 Bentley Speed Six won the FIVA/HVA Preservation Award for the most well-preserved vehicle.
