AACA Partners With Hagerty's Operation Ignite!
More youth judging events means more opportunity to connect kids to cars, the AACA and Hagerty’s Operation Ignite! are now partners in promoting the hobby to the next generation of enthusiasts.
Hagerty Operation Ignite! Connecting Kids and Cars and the Historical Vehicle Association is proud to announce the partnership with the Antique Automobile Club of America to bring the Youth Judging program to 30 AACA events throughout the country in 2011. This partnership will provide further opportunity for youths to become involved in the collector car community and join the fun and camaraderie it has to offer.
“My interest in collector vehicles came at an early age when working on cars in the garage with my Dad,” said McKeel Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty Insurance. “Our Operation Ignite! program provides young people the opportunity to experience great cars and this partnership with the AACA will reach more kids across the country to take part in AACA meets and become involved in the hobby through the youth judging program.”
The Youth Judging program provides kids the opportunity to meet car owners, gain knowledge about historic automobiles, and learn the basics of judging. Participants will receive official Youth Judging gear including a t-shirt, hat, scorecard, lanyard, and nametag and will also help present awards to their top three cars they selected at each event.
“AACA and Hagerty are both committed to finding ways to educate and excite young people with the spirit of the collectible vehicle world,” said Steve Moskowitz, AACA Executive Director. “It certainly is a great day for the hobby when we can partner for the common good. Our club is thrilled with this new opportunity and we look forward to seeing the miles of smiles this is going to bring to our youth program.”
