I have a 1963 Cadillac El Dorado convertible that is insured through Hagarty - would like to know a current value if anyone has ideas - in good shape - less than 100,000 miles - new top and restored interior - good paint. Also have a 1975 Lincoln Mark IV - white 2 door - good interior - new tires - recent brake job - value? Also have a 1963 Mercedes SL 450 - convertible - needs some work - value? Contact me by cell phone: 8`7-360-`543. Might be interested in selling the Mercedes and Lincoln.

Although I spent a week in Jacksonville--only a few miles from Amelia Is., I didn't bother going to the car show because: 1) it was too expensive to attend and 2) these "Concours de Elegance" shows tend to feature extremely expensive cars that I've never seen on the roads, nor could I afford to come even close to owning one. I prefer to attend shows that are geared to affordable cars that would be within my reach and that I've admired over the years; i.e., domestic cars of the 50's through the 70's. To each is own...

A car show for the 1%ers, who don't actually drive their cars on the road. Just show them off----

Interesting these comments. So you can't afford the cars, or they are not daily drivers, hummm, seems to me none of these folks have ever been to Amelia or they would not be making such statements. I have been to Amelia - once in 2012. IF YOU ARE A CAR NUT THIS IS A MUST. The East Coast Pebble Beach is what it is. Time capsules in a lot if not most cases, along with many of the new cars for test drives. Waiting for my wife to retire so we can go every year.

Drive it when and where practical, if you think like me. Haul it if that is how you enjoy it. But don't waste my time telling me all about the car(s) you have back home, that are too nice to bring out. A project THAT perfect has never been completed and never will be.
