Name That Grille
July 17, 2012
Thank you to everyone who commented on the grille photo on the HVA website and the HVA's Facebook page.
The grille in the photo belongs to a 1955 Chrsyler 300.
Virgil Exner is known for his “Forward Look” design on the 1955-1963 Chrysler products. He is responsible for the Chrysler letter car’s egg-crate grille and four headlights that lead back to huge fins and cathedral window taillights. The 1955 Chrysler 300 hardtop was the first real muscle car and had 300 horsepower. The company sold 1,725 of them and at that time Chrysler dominated NASCAR.
And the winner of the contest – Herb Kaiser from Bloomfield, MI!
For guessing correctly Herb Kaiser will receive a free HVA ballcap. The same cap is available here, in the online store.
Below is a photo of Herb Kaiser and his 1965 Volvo.
