Ever wonder what your state law is when it comes to seat belts in your historic vehicle? What about the laws in neighboring states where you might one day decide to drive? Now you can search for seat belt requirements on a state-by-state basis with this new, interactive map from the Historic Vehicle Association.
The HVA wants all historic vehicle enthusiasts to better understand the various laws that impact them. But everybody knows that, where state law is concerned, it can sometimes be hard for the average person to keep up. That’s why the HVA continues to develop its online library of interactive maps designed to help you research everything from various emissions regulations and personal property tax to vehicle registration requirements and, now, seat belt law.
This new and easy-to-navigate map offers state-specific searches of legal requirements for your historic vehicle based on the year of manufacture. Click here to check it out. Once you’re there, just click on the state in question and you’ll see the year of vehicle manufacture prior to which seat belts are not required.
