FIVA Preservation Award

For years, perfectly restored cars have wowed visitors at many a concours around the world. However,FIVA LOGO 2 for the past few years, the cars that most impress spectators and judges are the ones that have been left alone, largely as they left the factory or dealer showroom.                                                                                   

Many events are now embracing cars that have been spared restoration and have been nicely preserved. Much of the encouragement to recognize cars that haven’t been stripped and plated and primped has come from the HVA and FIVA who recognize the need to preserve vehicles just as they were built. This recognition comes in the form of FIVA awards at many of the country’s most important concours. At the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance there are generally two classes (pre-war and post-war) for FIVA judging. However, at many other concours, including The Fairfield County Concours, The Elegance at Hershey, The St. Michaels Concours, The Amelia Island Concours, The Concours of America Pebble Beach Concours and The Greystone Mansion Concours d’Elegance, any unrestored car on the field is eligible for FIVA judging in addition to regular class judging.

For more information about these top events, click on any of the above links. If you want to participate in FIVA judging, you can indicate your interest on your entry form - but it's not a requirement because chances are if your vehicle is there, it will be viewed by our judges anyway.
